Where Are The Women Of The Word?…

We recently had a study shared by one of us and as she shared on “Women Of the Word”, my heart came up with the question “Where Are The Women Of the Word”.

“Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.”
-Jeremiah 15:16 KJV

How many women still find the word and rejoice in it today?

Now, there is no way that we can know what the word says or believe the word if we don’t find the word.

I know. ..this should be a no-brainer but one thing that has been amazing to me among Christian ladies is how we sometimes know so little of the word and are comfortable with being that way.

I mean we make so much excuses about busyness and we rarely see a lady who really delves into the word of God as her first port of call

I have a deep love for women and sometimes when I intercede for us I ask God for a renewed hunger and thirst and desire for His word among us.

Because I notice among Christian women that we would rather gist about everything but God’s word and what we are learning from the word and the reason is simply because we have nothing to gist about from the word because we are not full of the word.

I know we all have struggles and our struggles with drawing deeper into God’s word maybe different but we need to continue pushing.

Empty women can’t be used by God.
We have to be filled and all the excuse of busyness wont help us.

We need Jesus.
The world needs Jesus and we can’t give them Jesus except we have Him.

We need to go back to the basis of “Lord fill me with hunger and thirst for you and your word again.
Let your word be the delight and rejoicing of my heart.
Let me not be able to go a day without drinking of the water of your word.
Let my heart be a ready soil for hearing from you.
Let your word soak into me.
Make me a woman who seeks you. Who finds your word and eats it…

If our desire for Jesus is waning, we need to be able to fast if need be to get it back.

Christian women jump out of bed without spending time in God’s word for that day and its a regular occurrence for them.

And I wonder…God wants to restore womanhood and change the world with women but where are these women?

His weapon has to be women full of Him and His word but where are these women?

I think that there is such an envy among women of other women who seem to be stronger in God because we don’t take out time to nurture our own growth in Christ.

So yes, a woman of the word seeks God’s word and we have to go back there.

Practical steps on how to do this?

Remember Mary and Martha’s story?

We simply have to go back to sitting at Jesus’ feet listening to what He says.

Jesus told Martha that all those things you are doing… preparing food..writing books..organizing events..and you say they are for me… well, they are great but if they are not placed on the right scale of preference, they are just DISTRACTIONS.

“As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”
-Luke 10:38-42 NLT

Question is: do you have a time for sitting at Jesus’ feet daily?

Is your source in God intact?

Do you place Him as first in your life?

And not just in songs. .. do you do everything else but give Jesus the dregs of your time…after you have finished all you wanna do?
We will try to run a Martha and Mary series on the blog to help us all soon. Stay tuned.

And oh I share this not because I am perfect.. It’s a struggle too for me. The Holy Spirit each morning has to remind me of my alarm clock which is psalm 91:1.

“Those who dwell in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the almighty…”

When He tells me that.. He tells me all the promises are for those who dwell under the secret place of the most High… outside of the secret place is free for all. There are no guarantees outside of dwelling in God.

That has been my alarm clock from the Spirit to sit at Jesus’ feet.

I hope we all yield as the Spirit helps us in our daily walk with Jesus in Jesus name..amen.

Just A Few Things:
(1) TWTW last meet for 2016 is here.
Two venues…Ekiti and Lagos.

The Bigger Plan Goodmorning sisters, its @frances_okoro here. I was sharing the vision of Ado-Ekiti meet with one of the ladies i invited yesterday and as I spoke, I realized afresh how much of what I was saying was the complete truth. TWTW is committed to raising women filled with Jesus.. Women walking in God's purpose for their lives and we live for imploring women to see beyond their jobs or even their marriages to seeing through Jesus' eyes. The woman at the well in John 4 which our group is based on had only a limited view of being with husbands till she met Jesus and as soon as she met Him, everything changed. Even her direction in life changed. I doubt that whe went back to the man she wasn't married to. She was given a new lease in Christ, a bigger purpose, she finally could live her life for the one who created her and that she did. Flying into town to spread the news about the messiah. What are you flying into town to spread the news about sister? Do you see the bigger picture yet? Jesus' picture? Are you filled up of Him to spread Him yet? Do you know your assignment in Him yet? We are pretty passionate about this in TWTW and that's why if you are a lady&in Ekiti, you shouldn't miss out on the upcoming meet with Frances. See the flyer for details and tag a sister you know who is close by to attend. They will thank you&thank you #christianladies #thewomenatthewell #christianladiesgroupinekiti
