WWIP series || The Path To Being An Effective Vessel in God’s Hands

On our last post in the “women walking in purpose series”, we talked about the single woman who wants to walk in purpose.
And on who she needs to be a vessel in God’s hands, see post HERE if you missed it.
Today we will go further into how to be a vessel in God’s hands.
Ofcourse, with all we have been talking about, you know that preparation plays a big part in walking in the purpose for which God has created you to fulfill.
No, you won’t just jump up and start doing great things for God.
There is a process that you must go through to be an effective vessel in God’s hands.
THE HEART (PREPARATION)

The preparation stage is the molding stage, the making stage, the pruning stage, the “sit- down-relax-and-let-God-work-on-you” stage and this stage takes a while to complete.
You know, even after you have come through the first stage – your heart is right with God… where you are truly complete and single in Him and you love Him, you desire Him and He has told you your path of destiny in Him (this path of destiny if fulfilled in steps by step by the way), you still have to go through the preparation stage.
This preparation stage is where many fail at.
Because it may seem like nothing is happening yet and every other person is making headway in the world, but God has given you big promises that don’t seem to be coming to pass.
He has said you will be a great speaker and transform lives for Him.
Or an amazing doctor with the healing touch etc., but all you have right now is one quack hospital that doesn’t even pay you up to 20,000 Naira in a month.
You are still being prepared and molded for your destiny.
This stage cannot be skipped .
“So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man.” (Genesis 2:21-22 ESV)
At first glance, this passage may not mean a thing. But notice that the Lord MADE THE WOMAN.
He sculpted her.
He molded her.
He wasn’t just making her body, He was making even her inside and all that she needs to do life in Him and for Him.
It’s same with the preparation season.
In this season, God molds us. Makes us. Sharpens us.
We cannot go into fulfilling purpose as raw materials.
Some of us still have character issues we need to let God work on. Some of us still need to build capacity and depth inside. Some of us still needs to be pruned.
Jesus says:
“I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.” (John 15:1-2 NLT)

Pruning is a process where a tree/plant is being trimmed and cut so it can grow in a better way. The pruning process is always a very hard and painful process but very necessary for one who wants to walk in divine purpose.
So many ladies crash and burn when they jump out to start “doing things” without preparation. Like a shooting star, they shine and flash through the sky but die quickly because they have no depth.
After God gives you a vision of your life, let Him prepare you for it. Sit down and be willing to be worked on. To be MADE by God. To be pruned. To be made in character, attitude and to have depth spiritually. For your roots to grow strong in Christ before He releases you to function deeply in and for Him.
You sit down and let God mold you for you to be able to work your own journey.
We may have come to Christ and have a new Spirit but still have so much God has to prune off of us.
Lust.
Envy.
Competition spirit.
Laziness.
Low spiritual growth.
Lack of wisdom.
No depth.
Character deficit. Etc.
All these are things God has to prune out of us else they will make us crash and burn if we are released to walk fully in purpose before we are worked on.
In this preparation stage, let your heart be at rest. Even if your friends are ahead of you, remember that it’s not a competition.
The society today wants to make it and make it fast. But Jesus prepared for 30 years for a 3-year ministry. John the Baptist too prepared in the wilderness.
When you are in your preparation season, no one may know you but that’s okay.
Be a youth with a difference. Let what drives you be different. Allow God mold you.
In this preparation stage, your highest work is to be devoted to God. To be like Mary sitting at the Lord’s feet. Filling up.
“Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:38-42 ESV)
Mary wasn’t stupid. It seemed like she was doing nothing by sitting at Jesus’ feet and Martha even got angry at her, but Jesus said she has chosen the best option/portion.
You can’t be pumped for ministry if you are not first pumped for God.
And “there has to be a filling up so there can be a bursting forth”.
You have to fill up first to be able to have anything to give out otherwise, you will crash and burn.
I believe that you don’t want to crash and burn.
You want to last on the road God wants you to go on. So you have to sit down and prepare first, even in the wilderness where no one knows you.
Wait.
Be molded.
Be prepared
Let God sit on you and make you…
At this preparation stage, you may even have some things you are doing, but do not be deceived. You are still being prepared. Do not tabernacle there and ride on the praises of people when you are not fully released.
God tests us even in this stage and what He gives you at preparation stage maybe to test your faithfulness. You still need to prove that you can be faithful at, even without acknowledgement or fame.

“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.” (Matthew 25:23 ESV)

The only one you are aiming to please is God and when He says “wait let me prepare you to be a ready instrument for my purpose”, PLEASE WAIT.
