Spiritual Growth Series || The Power Of Prayer

In my relationship with God, prayer has been my lifeline – the lifeline.
I have grown in intimacy with God through the way we communicate in prayer. I have heard His whispers when I ask Him a question. I have seen His arms wrap around me as I cry out to Him for help. The truth is that prayer has a way tuning our hearts to God and tuning His heart to ours.
TWTW usually have prayer time with a few ladies every last Sunday of the month and at the last prayer time, after asking the Spirit to take control, we ended up with joy so full in our hearts it was unreal. The Spirit poured out fresh fire, zeal and grace to run the race upon us. We left literally bouncing on our feet. That’s what prayer can do.
Prayer isn’t only in the thous and thees and it is not only for spiritual warfare but it is a means of communicating with our Father in heaven.
(the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray)
Our Father in heaven speaks of the relationship that exists between us and God. He wants to hear us speak to Him. He wants to hear us cry out to Him and He desires to answer us in return – that is prayer and as this exchange goes on, our souls are better turned to God’s soul – we become better conformed to His image and this is basically what we desire in spiritual growth. To be conformed more and more to the image of the son.
There is way we can communicate with God all through our day but then we can also have a prayer altar with God where we simply go to pour out our heart, joys, fears, desires and let’s face it, also do some spiritual warfare at.
One of the things our Naomi’s spoke about at our March meet was the importance of having a prayer altar as a woman of God.
How does this work?
1: Have a time and a place:
If prayer is that important to you, you will give God your time for it. You might struggle at first but it gets easier as your flesh adjusts to it.
Some persons wait till there is an issue they have to resolve, A.K.A till there is fire on the mountain and then they start to wake up at night to petition heaven. No, let heaven already recognize your voice before an issue arises in your life.
It’s amazing to see how people would take away food and sleep when they have an issue they need God for but as soon as it is gone, we cry out that there is no time. We are simply at ease in Zion; that is the simple truth and what happens when the enemy sees that you are at ease?
While men slept, the enemy came and sowed tares.
God shall not see us sleeping in Jesus name, amen.
As women we need to burn our spiritual candles and dig into God. In good times and bad times.
Have a place. It may be your kitchen, your toilet, your sitting room. Your balcony. A spot by your bed. Just have a place that when you step in, your heart is conditioned to understand that this is God’s time.
2: Relate With God In Prayer As Your Father And From A Place Of Spiritual Authority:
Coming to God in prayer includes understanding what exactly we are doing, who we are and whose we are. Otherwise prayer time will always be clogged by doubt and wonderings and wanderings of our minds.
Dig into the word of God and get your heart settled on your being a child of God and His promise to always be attentive to your cry/voice.
3: Be Consistent:
Don’t leave your prayer altar languishing from lack of use. Don’t let the fire die out.
An immediate symptom of a life that is on the verge of spiritually dying is the lukewarmness towards prayer. When satan wants to have a man (and woman) regress, he first of all takes away their prayer life (communication with God) so He can have free reign to deal with them.
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;..”
-Psalm 91:1,2&9
Who is to make the Lord His refuge?
You.
That responsibility is yours.
We pray that we shall all arise to this in Jesus name, amen!
We have come to the end of this series and we pray that it has fed your soul and been of help in a measure.
We can share dear sister but you have to implement and ask for grace to run with this.
